Beijing News (reporter Li Yukun) how is the progress of intercity railway and high-speed railway between Beijing and xiong’an? Which suburban railways will Beijing open this year? What opportunities will the second line of Beijing Shanghai high speed railway bring to the two places and along the line? During the two sessions, Zhao Chunlei, deputy to the National People’s Congress and chairman of China Railway Beijing Bureau Group Co., Ltd., gave an exclusive interview to reporters of the new Beijing News and answered these questions one by one.

Sub central line of suburban railway extends to Liangxiang by the end of June
Beijing News: how is the progress of the West extension of Beijing suburban railway?
Zhao Chunlei: now the railway department is cooperating with Beijing Municipality. According to the arrangement and deployment of the Beijing Municipal Party committee and the Beijing municipal government to further open the suburban trains, it is actively promoting the work. It is preliminarily assumed that the trains will be put into operation before the end of June. Because, the West extension of the sub center line is only for the reconstruction of the station building, and the line is to use the existing national railway line.
At present, the east end of the sub center line has been connected to Tongzhou Qiaozhuang east railway station. After extending to Fangshan Liangxiang in the west, it can realize a greater distance of connection, so that the citizens living in Liangxiang can enjoy the rapid and affordable suburban railway service.
Beijing News: from the perspective of the world, what is the significance and effect of helping the existing railways to open suburban railways on the development of metropolitan areas?
Zhao Chunlei: I have been to Europe. Some suburban railways and trunk railways in France, Belgium and other countries are integrated. When leaving the city, the function is equivalent to what we usually call trunk railway. After entering the city, it will drill into the underground to serve the city, and the function is equivalent to urban subway.
The development of suburban railway in our country is not long, less than 10 years. Compared with the subway, the suburban railway is first of all relatively long distance, running faster, generally 120 kilometers per hour. For example, the S2 line in Beijing is more than 100 kilometers long from Shacheng, and the S5 line is more than 130 kilometers long from Qinghe to Gubeikou. In addition, suburban railway fares are cheaper.
For the public, there is an extra choice of travel with suburban railway. Moreover, suburban railway is very convenient to connect with other trunk railways. Suburban railway is a green mode of transportation. I think suburban railway has positive significance in solving the traffic congestion and blue sky defense war in big cities.
Beijing News: at present, there are fewer suburban railway shifts, will there be more in the future?
Zhao Chunlei: according to the docking plan between China Railway Group and Beijing, with the increase of the number of lines to be opened in the future, the density of the lines to be opened will also increase. We will also provide more convenient and efficient services in ticket sales, in and out of the station, and transfer. It is believed that suburban railway will be more popular and play an increasingly important role in urban transportation.
Tongzhou to Miyun will open suburban railway
Beijing News: in the future, how do you think Beijing suburban railway will develop and what is its potential?
Zhao Chunlei: now there are three lines officially opened in Beijing. This year, we will electrify line S5 and connect it to Beijing North railway station. Because the line passes through Qinghuayuan tunnel, the diesel locomotive can not pass, so it must be electrified. It is hoped that the line from the west of Tongzhou to Miyun and Huairou will be opened as soon as possible, that is, the Beijing Chengdu line. In addition, there is a line from the east of Beijing to Changping, which is called the Northeast Ring Road, which also has the conditions for opening.
I think suburban railway should have a bright future. The cost of new highway is relatively high. If the existing railway corridor can be used well, it can achieve high social and economic value.
Beijing News: how should suburban railway terminals be built? What is Beijing’s plan?
Zhao Chunlei: Beijing Sub Center station is a good demonstration. No matter what kind of transportation mode, it should be considered comprehensively in the design, and the transfer should be centralized. Then there is Qinghe station, where suburban railway can transfer with line 13, Beijing Zhangjiakou high speed railway and other lines. In the future, it can also transfer to South extension of Changping line, with very short distance. In addition, in the future, the hub station can realize mutual recognition of security inspection and further optimize the way of ticket checking in and out of the station.
Bidding has been initiated for the intercity railway from Tianjin to Daxing Airport
Beijing News: the Beijing section between Beijing and Xiong city was opened last year. When will the Hebei section open?
Zhao Chunlei: it is planned to open the section from xiong’an station to Daxing airport by the end of this year, so it only takes half an hour from xiong’an to Daxing airport, which is equivalent to integrating xiong’an into the half-hour traffic circle of Beijing.
Beijing News: xiong’an and Beijing have also planned another high-speed railway. What’s the progress now?
Zhao Chunlei: Jingxiong high speed railway will start from the new Fengtai station and arrive at Shangqiu after xiong’an. It will become part of the future Beijing Jiulong high speed railway, which is under planning at present.
Beijing News: how is the inter city railway from Tianjin to xiong’an and from Tianjin to Daxing airport?
Zhao Chunlei: an intercity railway is being planned from Tianjin to xiong’an. Now there is a line from Tianjin to Baoding, but only through the Baigou in the north of xiong’an, which is equivalent to connecting with xiong’an new area, but there is no access to xiong’an station, and the next new line will be further connected to xiong’an.
In addition, Tianjin attaches great importance to the connection with Daxing airport, as well as the intercity railway planning. At present, the bidding has been launched.
Beijing News: what role has high-speed rail played in building a half-hour economic circle in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei?
Zhao Chunlei: the biggest advantages of high-speed rail are fast speed, large traffic volume and environmental protection. With the rapid development of high-speed rail, it is obvious that the communication between urban agglomerations is more convenient. After xiong’an and Beijing are connected by high-speed rail, the effect of integration will be more obvious. In the future, the flow of production factors will be smoother and the space for resource allocation will be larger.
The second line of Beijing Shanghai high speed railway will be promoted in sections, which will bring opportunities along the way
Beijing News: what impact will the planning and construction of the second line of Beijing Shanghai high speed railway have on the two cities and the stations along the way?
Zhao Chunlei: the second channel of Beijing Shanghai high speed railway is advancing in sections. As we all know, high-speed rail has become a business card of China. People deeply feel the convenience brought by the opening of high-speed rail. When the new high-speed rail is built, they all hope to be close to their home and set up stations in their hometown. In fact, high-speed rail has a strong pulling effect on the economy along the line. For example, the Beijing Zhangjiakou high-speed railway, which opened last year, has brought great convenience to residents in Northwest Hebei and Inner Mongolia. The second channel of Beijing Shanghai high speed railway will bring the same effect.
Beijing News: Recently, what other high-speed rail construction starts from Beijing?
Zhao Chunlei: there are several aspects of railway construction in Beijing this year. Among them, Xinghuo station, the starting station of Beijing Shenyang high-speed railway, is currently in the process of pushing forward, striving to put into use by the end of the year or next spring festival. In addition, the construction of new Fengtai station is being promoted. The construction of Jingxiong intercity railway and Beijing Shenyang high speed railway is in the stage of opening or close to the end. We will build these large-scale railway construction projects and make due contributions to the “six guarantees”.
Beijing Railway Bureau Group transports more than 1000 medical staff
Beijing News: during the epidemic, how many epidemic prevention materials were transported by Beijing railway department?
Zhao Chunlei: according to our statistics, a total of 77 batches of 1145 medical staff were transported. For the experts transported, we made separate statistics, with a total of 12 batches and 33 people; the materials reached 1744 tons and 128800 pieces.
Beijing News: epidemic prevention and control has been normalized. What else should we pay attention to in railway epidemic prevention?
Zhao Chunlei: after the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, we continue to implement the responsibilities of the four parties. In terms of prevention and control of station vehicles, we insist on requiring passengers to wear masks for temperature measurement. For trains, we need to strengthen ventilation and disinfection.
Beijing News: what are your suggestions for this year’s NPC and CPPCC sessions?
Zhao Chunlei: one of my suggestions is to speed up the legislation of railway safety management. Now more than ten provinces, cities and autonomous regions have issued local laws and regulations, and more than ten provinces have been listed in the legislative plan. There is no legislative plan for Beijing and Tianjin. We hope that Beijing will be on the legislative plan as soon as possible, and we will spare no effort to work with Beijing to promote relevant work and play a more important role in the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
